This noble whisky was distilled at the shores of the Scottish Isle of Islay at the venerable Laphroaig distillery. The whisky was given directly after distillation into a very old Portuguese single oak cask, that housed port wine for over twenty years before. For the full time of maturation, the sheer bold power of this uncompromising whisky was married with the richness of flavours of the casks port wine heritage. During the full-time maturation at Laphroaig warehouse on Islay, marvellous bold and rich flavours of dark chocolate, soaked raisins and salted plums were added to the distinctive peaty profile of the distillery. The whisky was bottled in its purest form in cask strength, no colours added and non-chill-filtered. The rareness of that profiled whisky is unquestioned and we are grateful to bottle it for our XXV anniversary. This whisky and this cask have come a long way. In this very moment, when you crack the bottle and take your first dram, all this liquid history will touch your body and soul.
