Der WILD WOLF OF ISLAY wurde 2008 in den Tiefen der geheimnisvollen schottischen Insel Islay geboren. An den Ufern des wilden Atlantiks liegt die Destillerie Caol Ila (gegründet 1846) an der Nordostküste von Islay mit einem herrlichen Blick auf den Islay-Sund ("Caol Ila" auf Gälisch) und die spektakuläre Bergformation Paps of Jura. Islay ist eine atemberaubende Insel an der "Whiskyküste" Westschottlands und wahrscheinlich am besten für ihre torfigen, rauchigen Whiskys bekannt. Einige sagen, sie seien die besten der ganzen Welt.
Der WILD WOLF OF ISLAY wurde 11 Jahre lang in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern gereift. Sein Geschmack ist sehr maritim, mit einem zarten Rauch, Algen, Zitrusfrüchten, unreifer Ananas, Vanille und Senfkörnern. Am Gaumen empfängt dich sein süßer und eleganter Charakter. Eine knackige Frische von jungen Mentholblättern gibt minzartige Noten entlang der rauchigen Süße des Whiskys. Der Abgang ist lang und elegant mit Austern- und Zitronennoten. Heidehonig umarmt die erdig-zarten Röstaromen. Eine frische Salzigkeit bleibt bis zum nächsten Schluck erhalten. Sláinte!

The WILD WOLF OF ISLAY was born in 2008 in the depts of mysterious Scottish island of Islay. At the shores of the wild Atlantic Ocean, the Caol Ila distillery (founded 1846) is located on the northeast coast of Islay with a magnificent view of the Islay Sound ("Caol Ila" in Gaelic) and the spectacular Paps of Jura mountain formation. A stunning island on the 'whisky coast' of west Scotland, the Isle of Islay is probably best known for its peaty, smoky whiskies. Some say they are the best in the whole world.
The WILD WOLF OF ISLAY was matured for 11 years in ex-Bourbon casks. It's flavor is very maritime, with a delicate smoke, seaweed, citrus, unripe pineapple, vanilla and mustard seeds. On the palate you'll be welcomed by it's sweet and elegant character. A crisp freshness of young menthol leaves gives you minty notes along the smoky sweetness of the whisky. The finish is long and elegant with oyster and lemon notes. Heather honey embraces the earthy delicate roasted aromas. A fresh saltiness remains until you take your next sip. Sláinte!
